The solar eclipse in Libra at 10°02’ on 2 Oct 2024 (GMT) was close to the degree of Jennifer Lopez’s Libran ascendant (if her natal chart I found online is correct).
The ascendant (ASC) represents the beginning of our journey from the moment we take our first breath. It is how we view the world along with the first impression that others have of us among other things, including our physical bodies.
When an eclipse touches the ASC, it is life-changing with the signature of a new chapter.
Eclipses occur every 6 months, often repeating a similar theme or bringing up more information about the same issue in another 6 months when a series of eclipses in the same sign and its opposite sign activate certain parts of a chart.
This is especially the case when eclipses fall within a 5-degree range to the Angles (ASC & DSC or MC & IC), which in JLo’s case is in the signs of Aries and Libra.
Let’s rewind back to 6 months ago to see if anything major surfaced for her during that time…
Back in April, there was a solar eclipse in Aries at 19°22’ on 8 Apr 2024, which was close to her descendent (DSC), representhing her partner.
It was at that time that the news of her divorce to Ben Affleck was swirling, with rumors that they already started to live separately.
We now know both the separation and divorce rumors to be true.
The April 2024 eclipse was almost at the exact degree of the asteroid, Chiron, which represents wounds. I have no doubt that splitting with Ben Affleck was painful for her, triggering wounds from the past.
Eclipses denote beginnings and endings, with someone important to us entering or leaving our lives.
With a solar eclipse, it is often a man or an influential male figure who can come into the picture or exit from our lives forever, such as someone’s father or a male boss.
It can be a female or another gender as well of course. But in general, solar eclipses are associated with male figures.
In JLo’s case, it was her husband who was eclipsed out.
Eclipses can also have a huge impact when it activates or forms an aspect pattern with the planets in one’s chart.
Furthermore, eclipses leave a mark when it touches one’s chart ruler.
The lunar eclipse in Pisces at 25°47’ last month on 18 Sep 2024 was part of a mutable T-square, which is a harsh planetary aspect.
The September eclipse also formed a mutable T-square with the planets in her chart, including Venus, which is her chart ruler (because Venus rules Libra & JLo has a Libra ascendant).
When a mutable T-square gets formed or activated (especially by an eclipse), it triggers frustrations from different directions.
For her, it felt like nothing was sticking no matter what she did because of the mutable energy, which is about constant movement, with hurdles and obstacles showing up from different areas of her life.
It was impossible for her to NOT feel the impact of this particular eclipse.
It is interesting that P. Diddy (who she was in a relationship with in the past) was arrested on the same day of this eclipse.
This September 2024 lunar eclipse began a series of eclipses in the signs of Virgo and Pisces.
She will continue to be associated with Diddy, which the upcoming eclipses next year in Virgo and Pisces will highlight.
I won’t be surprised at all if her name gets dragged into Diddy’s case from 1999 (when she was in a relationship with him) involving a shooting.
Although his recent arrest is not specifically related to the incident of 1999. But an investigation to the 1999 shooting has been re-opened recently.
I also won’t be surprised if she is being investigated now. And I can see her being called to testify in court.
In a previous post “JLo – How NOT to do Leo with Pluto in Aquarius”, I wrote that Pluto (known for reviving things from the past) will oppose her Mercury (ruler of her 9th house which represents legal matters) in the next 2 years.

The second act of the September 2024 eclipse will be a lunar eclipse in Virgo at 23°58’ next year on 14 Mar 2025.
Things that surfaced in September of this year will re-surface for her in the Spring of next year. Or more likely, a new layer of the same issues will need to be addressed by her.
The March 2025 eclipse will fall right on her natal Pluto (which is intense to say the least).
Once again, this particular eclipse will form a mutable T-square with the planets in her chart, including Venus (her chart ruler).
The theme of frustrations no matter where she turns with obstacles popping up from different directions will be highlighted again in March about the same areas of her life, which the previous eclipse of September 2024 already brought up.
Subsequently, 6 months later, the lunar eclipse in Pisces at 15°24’ on 7 Sep 2025 will form a mutable T-square with her Venus once again, when she will be forced to address whatever came up from the previous two eclipses, underlining the same matters.
Finally, the solar eclipse in Virgo at 28°59’ on 21 Sep 2025 will also have a massive impact.
This eclipse will not form a T-square like the other ones, but it will have Saturn (planet of limitations & karma) making almost an exact opposition to the eclipse, which is no picnic.
Saturn makes sure that we pay our dues, with little or no room to wiggle ourselves out from responsibilities.
