Jupiter and Uranus will unite at the exact degree at 21°50’on 21 Apr 2024 (GMT).

Jupiter (ruler of Sagittarius & traditional ruler of Pisces) is often celebrated for bringing gifts and blessings.

Having said this, Jupiter magnifies and expands everything it touches, which is not always for the best. This can include debt, over-eating or any kind of tendency to overindulge.

Uranus (modern ruler of Aquarius) is known for surprises, shocks and for turning things upside-down in the blink of an eye.

Uranus is also associated with rebellion and unpredictability.

Both planets love freedom.

Hence, this conjunction has the signature of liberation and being released from things that have held us back.

It’s important to note that things can swing from one end of the spectrum to another at lightening speed with this conjunction.

Overall, I love sharing “good” news, such as this conjunction can activate lots of money all of a sudden (which can happen to some). But I also have to point out that the opposite can take place with unexpected losses.

This conjunction also has the energy of swift fall or rapid rise to fame or power for many.

With my Sun in Sagittarius and Rising in Aquarius, it’s almost impossible for me not to feel the merging of the energies of these two planets right now.

On top of this, this conjunction is taking place close to my IC.

The IC stands for Imum Coeli, which in Latin means “bottom of the sky”.

The IC lies at the bottom of our charts, which marks the beginning of the 4th house that represents the most private aspects of ourselves, including our roots, home and parents among other things.

I won’t be surprised if I end up moving (4th house) all of a sudden (Uranus) into a bigger (Jupiter) place for instance.

This energy can of course play out in myriad of other Jupiterian and Uranian ways involving the 4th house for me. Jupiter is associated with international affairs and adventures. And with unpredictable Uranus in the mix, it’s sometimes impossible to predict exactly what kind of surprises lie in store.

Last time when we had a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in early Jan 2011, I had a major relocation from Canada to Nepal that year to work for the United Nations.

I was working towards an overseas posting with the UN for a long time. And finally, the stars aligned, and my career took a turn in a way that I’ll never forget.

In the future, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction will take place again in Sep 2037 in a different sign.

The current Jupiter-Uranus conjunction also falls right on my South Node.

The South Node in a nutshell represents our past, including past lives and the gifts we bring with us.

If you want to learn about the nodes, the signs, the planets and the houses in your chart, and want to work with their energies based on where they are placed in YOUR unique chart for success in different areas of your life, check out my masterclass Uncover the Hidden Power of Your Horoscope.

Another thing to note is that this conjunction will be within close proximity to the malevolent fixed star, Algol.

Unlike the planets in astrology, fixed stars move at a much slower pace. I didn’t have the time to carry out more in-depth research about fixed stars for this post. But many astrologers say that a fixed star can roughly move up to 1 degree every 72 years.

Algol is at 26 degrees of Taurus right now.

Jupiter will conjunct Algol in May 2024, and Uranus will conjunct this fixed star in Jul 2024.

Algol is associated with violence and has a dangerous reputation.

This fixed star is also connected to losing one’s head – literally and figuratively speaking.

For example, one can have a meltdown or a mental breakdown when triggered. Other ways Algol can play out when activated is actual decapitation.

I can’t help but think of the guillotine when I think of Algol.

The guillotine was an instrument used to carry out capital punishment by decapitation, which was widely used during the French Revolution, especially during its “Reign of Terror” phase.

I was in high school when I first learned about the French Revolution.

The historical details and timelines of the revolution are quite sketchy for me these days. But thanks to the internet, within seconds I found out that the French Revolution took place between 1789 and 1799 – during a time when Pluto (massive transformation) was in Aquarius mostly (like now).

In the 1700s, Pluto was in Aquarius between 1778 to 1798. That was a period marked by mass uprisings and revolutions, including the American Revolution and the French Revolution.

During the French Revolution, the Reign of Terror occurred between Sep 1793 and Jul 1794 when the use of guillotine in public became more prevalent, including to behead members of the aristocracy and royalty.

Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France, was famously executed by the guillotine at that time.

She was alleged to have said “let them eat cake” in response to hearing that the peasants were starving and had no bread to eat.

I looked into what the planets were doing back then to find out what Jupiter and Uranus were up to and if Algol was involved in any way.

In the beginning of Sep 1793, when the Reign of Terror begun, there was a partile (exact) aspect between Jupiter and Uranus.

On 4 Sep 1793, Jupiter in all-or-nothing Scorpio made an exact square (hard aspect) to Uranus in regal Leo at 25 degrees.

In Jul 1794 (when the Reign of Terror officially ended), Saturn (discipline, limitations) in steady Taurus was at 26 degrees (same degree of Algol right now), and Saturn made an exact square (friction, conflict) to Uranus in Leo at this degree.

Similarly, I expect many in positions of power in this era to lose their heads (figuratively or literally) starting now, which will intensify in the next few months.

This phase could last up to 13 years (when activated) until the next Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in 2037.

I don’t know if there will be a revival of the guillotine – perhaps an AI-operated one.

It’s interesting that many members of the royal family in Britain have planets and other astrological points within close proximity to Algol.

This includes Prince William who has Venus in Taurus at 25°40′, and Prince Harry who has both his Moon (21°20′) and the North Node (29°38′) in Taurus close to this fixed star.

Other famous people with planets conjunct Algol are Johnny Depp with his Mercury at 25°17′ and Venus at 26°06′ of Taurus, along with his ex-wife, Amber Heard, who also has her Venus at 25°04′ of Taurus.

The Prime Minister of the UK, Rishi Sunak, has his Sun at 21°52′ of Taurus.

We’ll find out soon if they will rise to glory in the near future or be sent to the guillotine…

Iran has its Moon at 28°50′ of Taurus and Israel has its Sun at 23°40′ of Taurus.

I expect the violence between these two countries to escalate. And their Heads of State (along with their allies) will continue to dominate the news.
